It is an irrefutable fact that in this contemporary world, euthanasia has been a debatable topic for years. Considering this, this essay will ascertain the considerable/prominent factors which are playing predominating role to decrease the acceptance of euthanasia in our society before outlining the appropriate measures to cope with it.

There are some factors involved in increasing the drive against euthanasia. Firstly, being against religious and ethical beliefs could be a significant factor to be considered. It is generally believed that in every religion killing another human being, for whatever reason, is considered unethical and against the will of the Almighty.  A recent article in The Age revealed that more than 80% of the population in modern society considers euthanasia as an evil practice, which could be taken as a fortifying example. In addition to this, fear of denting the conscience and reputation of medical fraternity could be a substantial cause behind increased dislike/antipathy towards euthanasia.

Despite the causes discussed above regarding the nonacceptance of euthanasia in our society, there are quite a few readily solutions exist, which could be implemented to make it an acceptable practice. Initially, legalizing this practice could be an effective tool. It is generally seen that when a practice is legalized by the government agencies, the society, gradually, starts looking at the positives associated with such a rule, which makes them less resilient towards such beliefs. Moreover, respecting the rights and dignity of an ailing patient could be another indispensable key that can be adopted.

In the end, indeed, it is quite a complex process to accept euthanasia; however, aforementioned some concrete steps can assist to mitigate the nonacceptance of it.
